The region’s public school system is comprised of seven separate school districts, where students gain can gain both academic and career and technical skills. In addition to outstanding public schools, the region boasts several impressive private and parochial schools.
Of particular note to employers is Pinkerton Academy’s Center for Career and Technical Education, which is one of 26 regional CTE centers in New Hampshire. Between introductory, business and program specific courses, Pinkerton Academy offers 70-plus different subjects per year serving 3,000 students from across the region. Courses are organized around labs that are designed to simulate actual workplace environments. Students use state-of-the-art equipment and perform tasks that are aligned with industry standards.
The greater Derry-Londonderry region is also located within 30 miles of some of the finest educational institutions in southern New Hampshire including the University of New Hampshire, Manchester Community College, Southern New Hampshire University, Nashua Community College, Saint Anselm College, University of New Hampshire at Manchester, Mount Washington College, and the New Hampshire Institute of Art.
