ADVOCACY

Leveraging the strength of the collective business community

A non-partisan organization that does not endorse or other wise support candidates or political parties, the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber does engage in issues-based political advocacy at the state and local levels. The Chamber’s advocacy efforts focus on issues that affect the business community and the region’s economic development prospects.

Spearheading the Chamber’s advocacy efforts is the Government Affairs Committee, which serves to identify and study issues of interest to the business community and recommend to the Board of Directors legislation on which the committee believes the organization should take a position. The Government Affairs Committee meets the fourth Friday of every month at 8am at the Chamber. All Chamber members are eligible and encouraged to attend committee meetings.

PUBLIC POLICY PRIORITIES

Leveraging the strength of the collective business community

A Chamber membership comes with numerous benefits, some more visible than others. One aspect the Greater Derry Londonderry Chamber offers is business advocacy. Since the state’s legislative session began in January, your Chamber has focused on several topics that affect businesses in our region.

Among them are business taxes, workforce issues, projects that affect infrastructure investment and access to reasonable healthcare costs. Stay tuned for additional information on these topics.
