Local High Schools & Charter Schools

Families in the greater Derry–Londonderry region have access to a variety of high-quality public, charter, and alternative high school options. While some towns operate their own high schools, others tuition students to nearby institutions—most notably Pinkerton Academy.  Students from all of these communities may also apply to public charter schools, which offer alternative learning models.

Londonderry High School

Londonderry High School is the town’s public high school serving Londonderry students.

Next Charter School

Located in Derry, NH, Next Charter School is a public charter high school option focused on alternative learning approaches.

Pinkerton Academy

Serves students from Derry and surrounding towns including Chester, Hampstead, Auburn, and Atkinson. Pinkerton Academy also offers a Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center with hands-on training opportunities.

Timberlane Regional High School

Timberlane Regional High School serves Sandown as well as the neighboring communities of Plaistow, Atkinson, and Danville.

Windham High School

Windham High School is the town’s public high school serving Windham students.

Colleges & Universities

With multiple community colleges and universities within a short drive, the greater Derry–Londonderry region offers accessible, affordable, and high-quality higher education options. Students can start locally at a community college and seamlessly transfer to four-year institutions, supporting both career advancement and workforce development across southern New Hampshire.

Manchester Community College

A comprehensive two-year college offering associate degrees, certificates, and workforce training programs with strong transfer pathways to four-year institutions.

Southern NH University

A nationally recognized university offering undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, both on campus and online.

University of NH - Manchester

An urban campus of the UNH system offering career-focused bachelor’s and graduate programs.

Trade & Technical Training Options

In addition to traditional colleges, the region offers strong hands-on trade and apprenticeship pathways that allow individuals to “earn while they learn,” gain industry certifications, and quickly enter high-demand careers in the skilled trades and technical fields.

Apprenticeship NH

A statewide registered apprenticeship system that combines paid on-the-job training with classroom instruction in fields like construction, healthcare, IT, manufacturing, and automotive trades.

Granite State Trade School

A nationally recognized university offering undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs, both on campus and online.

New Hampshire School of Mechanical Trades

Offers hands-on training in high-demand fields such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and gas technician work, along with licensing prep and continuing education for licensed professionals.
